Worship within the Reformed Evangelical Synod of America is rooted in the ancient patterns of Christian prayer and praise found in Sacred Scripture and the writings of the Church Fathers. As a result, our congregations gather together on the Lord’s Day to hear God’s Word proclaimed and to celebrate in Sacrament the passion, death, and resurrection of our Lord.
To guide our corporate worship, we make use of our own revision of the historic Book of Common Prayer. While firmly rooted in the Anglican Prayer Book tradition, our revision also employs material from the Eastern and Latin Churches, as well as the Lutheran and Reformed traditions.
A volume of excerpts from our Prayer Book (sufficient for family prayers and the most commonly celebrated services of the Church) is avaliable for you to review or purchase by following this link.
The 2010 edition of The Book of Common Prayer is authorized for a three year use, with final revisions due for evaluation in time for approval of the permanent Prayer Book in time for the beginning of the 2014 Liturgical Year.
